About ROC
Workshops are a structured, fun and interactive way to explore prevention based mental wellness concepts. All activities are designed
to teach children how to use their thoughts, feelings and choices to problem solve, be proactive, understand emotions, recover
from disappointment and keep life's events (appropriate to their age) in perspective.
ROC students will learn:
- How to give themselves positive personal labels and names.
- Simple and realistic self-talk skills to keep their attention on possibilities rather than doom and gloom and what 'could go wrong',
so they can bounce back from disappointment.
- Secrets of confident body language, understanding body/mind relationship.
- Ways to avoid and manage stress, worry and anxiety.
- The power of 'choice and responsibility', learning to self-regulate and spot the difference between major and minor events.
- To flip negatives into positives developing inner resiliency.
- To create positive affirmations of self-belief and optimism.
- How to change their reputation or create a new or improved reputation.
- Ways to deal with feedback and criticism without conflict.
- How to consciously choose friendship groups.
ROC in schools?
- 90 minutes workshops (max 3 workshops in one school day)
- Students are usually in gender groups of 15-20
